ASSET InterTech's Boundary-Scan Test, Processor-Controlled Test and Intel® IBIST form a unique set of tools for access to, and control of embedded instrumentation.
Richardson, TX (August 16, 2004) ASSET's ScanWorks® will be the first test system to support Intel's next-generation test technology, Intel® IBIST (Interconnect Built In Self Test). Intel plans to embed Intel® IBIST capabilities into many of its future chips to lower the overall cost of test and more effectively validate high-speed buses. ASSET, as an international leader in boundary-scan (IEEE 1149.1/JTAG) test technology, has a long history of developing sophisticated tools for embedded test technologies. In order to rapidly deploy Intel® IBIST, we knew that our users had to have tools that would expedite their uptake of this technology. We are pleased that ASSET's ScanWorks software will be supporting Intel® IBIST said Scott Huck, Intel Platform Technologist. The Intel IBIST test technology will play a major role in reducing the cost of validating and testing the high speed buses on the next generation platforms. ASSET's ScanWorks test environment with support for Intel® IBIST consists of software test controllers to validate high-speed buses such as PCI Express (PCIe) and others, as well as fault diagnostic tools. ScanWorks with Intel® IBIST tools is currently in beta test on the first Intel chips and platforms to include the new test technology. ScanWorks with IBIST tools will be demonstrated at the Intel Developers Forum in the Moscone Center, San Francisco, California, September 7-9, 2004. General availability of Intel® IBIST tools in ScanWorks has been scheduled for the first quarter of 2005. We are excited to be the first vendor supporting the Intel® IBIST technology, said Glenn Woppman, president and CEO of ASSET InterTech. We look forward to extending the capabilities of ScanWorks with Intel IBIST. By supporting Intel IBIST in ScanWorks we will be able to offer our customers the most advanced test methods available. Intel's IBIST technology is a test architecture that the company is integrating into its next-generation processor chips and chipsets to enable chip-to-chip interconnect testing and design validation of high-speed buses on a printed circuit board. IBIST leverages the boundary-scan IEEE 1149.1 specification as the hardware and software communication methodology for accessing and controlling the embedded on-chip IBIST capabilities. ASSET's easy yet powerful ScanWorks boundary-scan test and ISP environment is currently deployed by leading electronics companies such as Cisco, Lucent Technologies, Agilent, BAE, Hewlett-Packard, Ericsson, Raytheon, Solectron, Rockwell Collins, EMC and others. About ASSET InterTech ASSET InterTech, Inc. develops, markets, sells, and supports boundary-scan testability and in-system programming (ISP) products worldwide. ASSET's affordable ScanWorks® environment is easy yet powerful. It allows users to quickly and easily test semiconductors, circuit boards or entire systems during every phase of a product's life, including design, manufacturing/repair and field maintenance. The ISP capabilities of ScanWorks can be used to load software or data into programmable devices after they have been connected to a printed circuit board. The ScanWorks product family works in conjunction with a standard of the International Electronics and Electrical Engineering (IEEE) society known as the IEEE 1149.1 (JTAG) boundary-scan test specification. ASSET InterTech is located outside of Dallas, TX, at 2201 North Central Expressway, Suite 105, Richardson, TX 75080.
