Emergency License Tokens

Product
Overview
With ScanWorks’
Emergency License Tokens you don’t need to worry any more
about a PC failure affecting your test operations. Moreover,
you have additional flexibility for handling peak-usage periods
when another ScanWorks station could help alleviate a potential
bottleneck in test. Consider what might happen if the PC that’s
running your ScanWorks manufacturing test station quits working
on the last day of the month, just as you need to ship products.
You would have to move ScanWorks to another PC, but you need
a license for the second PC and it's 2:00 a.m. and most people
have gone home. With a ScanWorks Emergency License Token,
you can install ScanWorks on a working PC, connect to the
ASSET Maintenance Benefits web site, enter the required information
and immediately receive a four–day license for a ScanWorks
manufacturing station that will get you through the weekend.
Here’s
another example. Business is booming and new designs needing
boundary-scan tests are overwhelming your test development
resources. You could reassign test engineers to JTAG test
development, but that would be useless unless they had access
to ScanWorks development stations. You are not sure whether
the surge in business will continue, so you don’t want to
invest in purchasing additional stations just yet. With Emergency
License Tokens you can simply connect to the ASSET Maintenance
Benefits web site and request a 30-day development station
license to get you through the peak-usage period. The Emergency
License is a single-user license with all of the features
of one of your current ScanWorks development stations, but
you can specify another PC to run it on.
Emergency License Token Features
Emergency License Tokens
can be purchased in advance with a purchase order for later use or they can be
purchased on-line with a credit card as they are needed. The features enabled by
each token are identical to an existing ScanWorks station of your choice. When you
“cash in” a token, you assign the license to the host ID of a PC. The Emergency Token
license authorizes a single-user license for the specified PC. A token license cannot
be added to a network license. If the existing station is a manufacturing station, the
Emergency Token License is valid for four days, allowing you plenty of time to contact
ASSET to permanently transfer the license to another PC or to return the original host
PC to service. If the existing station is a development station, an Emergency Token License
is valid for 30 days, giving you adequate time to get through a peak-usage period or providing
enough time for you to decide whether you should purchase another permanent ScanWorks license.
Tokens do not expire. They are valid for as long as you own a ScanWorks station.
Emergency License Tokens are provided
as a web-based, user-friendly tool for ScanWorks customers. You can of course contact ASSET
during normal support hours to transfer licenses at or to purchase limited-term licenses for
peak periods. For more information on Emergency License Tokens, contact your ASSET sales
representative.
